I was so thankful to have this gorgeous shower thrown for me and our second little boy, due any day now. Three good friends, Sarah, Audrey, and Melody, put together so many amazing elements that they made themselves. Hosted in Sarah’s dreamy backyard, we spent the afternoon laughing and enjoying onesie-making, punch, and yummy strawberry shortcake. Meghan Kay Sadler photographed the event and all the images below are from her.
I was so impressed with all the details that came together so beautifully, and especially that they put everything together themselves. Sarah designed the invitations, and Melody addressed the invites in her beautiful calligraphy. They made the Oh Boy! pennants, and all those pretty fabric wall hangings. The place settings were perfect and everyone took home a succulent as a shower favor. They served food on Sarah’s beautiful cutting boards from A Sunny Afternoon, along with linens from her line as well. Audrey made the delicious punch, and Melody made the strawberry shortcake. (I may have taken home two extras!) I think one of my favorite parts of the whole theme was the wall they assembled using triangle paper cutouts in Sarah’s backyard. The wall reminded me so much of the Kelly Wearstler decor of the Avalon Hotel, which I love. All the talented ladies made adorable onesies for the little babe, using fused fabric ironed onto white onesies. We opened the fancy wrapped presents, and everyone managed to pick out different paper from Audrey’s shop Urbanic. It was all so gorgeous that I went home and couldn’t stop thinking about it for days. I felt incredibly honored, and it was so special to have a party to celebrate the new baby that will be here soon!
